Most people want to eat food that is low in fat, no trans fats, no cholesterol, and all the other Health Food buzz words, but who really has the time. Everybody has such a busy life now, "eating right" usually loses out to a Big Mac. It is easy and fast, and they taste pretty good. And really a Big Mac isn't going to kill me; I ordered a Diet soda. Well, maybe it is time that we compromised a bit. If there were foods, that had all the Health Food industry buzz words, were fast to cook, tasted good, and even your kids would like them, wouldn't you give it a try ? For your kids, if for no one else.
Subway has been ahead of the trend, thanks to spokesperson and super weight loss star Jared, with their ad campaign featuring fat gram counts. A new trend has begun with an organic fast food chain backed by Paul Newman and Michael Nischan, called "The Dressing Room", in Westport, Connecticut. In Hamburg, Germany, the new organic chain-to-be has begun with a restaurant named "Nat." for natural. Is this the future for all fast food chains? Probably not, unless the market for fast food swings heavily in that direction and only time will tell.
A healthy fast food chain would also be a great alternative for the business professional who often doesn't have time to pack a lunch for work. You could drive-through and order a fresh salad with light dressing without worrying about whether you have been deceived. For example, many traditional fast food chains will advertise something as healthy, but when you see the actual nutrition information, it is far from it. In fact, eating the so-called healthy items at a traditional fast food place may be worse than eating those greasy fries. It is sad that our world has come to this.
