Until recent years, everyone in society knew that fast food chains didn't sell healthy foods. Recently, however, these restaurants have changed many of their menu selections to gain business from those individuals who are looking for a healthier diet. The truth is, while some foods are healthy, there are very few restaurant foods that are as healthy as home cooking. Many of these foods are the nutritious equivalent of those frozen foods that are sold in the supermarket! It is, therefore, a good idea to avoid them as much as possible.
The best fast foods are salads, grilled chicken and a fish sandwich. When you eat or buy from a fast food restaurant, make sure that your sandwich or salad should not mix together with the dressings. Avoid some creamy toppings and sauces. Have them pack or serve in a separate order. Just take a few dip or mix in your food. You can consider burger but a few bites will do. Set aside the fries and nuggets, they contain a lot of fats from dip frying. When you want some soup, do not order the creamy base soup and it will make them a healthy fast food.
Subway has been ahead of the trend, thanks to spokesperson and super weight loss star Jared, with their ad campaign featuring fat gram counts. A new trend has begun with an organic fast food chain backed by Paul Newman and Michael Nischan, called "The Dressing Room", in Westport, Connecticut. In Hamburg, Germany, the new organic chain-to-be has begun with a restaurant named "Nat." for natural. Is this the future for all fast food chains? Probably not, unless the market for fast food swings heavily in that direction and only time will tell.
