An object's colors act as discriminate reflectors meaning they will only reflect their own color. The reason why we can see all the colors present in the objects around us is because white light contains all the colors of the visible spectrum of colors, so it highlights them all. This concept of how light works becomes important when we want to highlight something in a certain way. For instance let's say we have a red rose with a green leaf. If the rose was lighted with only a red light the green leaf would appear to have no color or it would appear to be black. This concept could also be flipped the other way in lighting the rose with a green light the red rose would appear to have no color or look black. Remember if the color isn't in the light source you won't see it in the object being lighted. When we look at the color light spectrum there are colors that are weak at certain points and stronger at others. If you have a light source that is stronger in any one color or colors it will tend to emphasize those colors and mask the other colors present.
Landscape lamps are attached to special landscape wire by a simple contact that pierces the jacket of the wire. The wire is attached to a transformer that is designed to be installed outside and plugged into an exterior GFCI outlet. The transformer, or power pack as it is also called, reduces the landscape lighting from 120 volts to 12 volts, making the run of lamps and the wire safe for dogs, children and the occasional errant lawnmower or gardener digging with a shovel. There is not shock if for any reason, the landscape wire is exposed, cut or compromised.
LEDs are nothing like an incandescent light bulb. They have no glass bulb, there is no filament, and there is very little heat produced. This is because LEDs produce light in a wholly different manner. Rather than heat a filament like an incandescent bulb to produce light, which is by the way extremely inefficient, LEDs produce light through a process called electroluminescence. Rather than go into a long and drawn out technical explanation, it's enough to simply say that electrical power is fed through a small piece of semi-conducting material which then emits light energy. This process is extremely efficient, produces little heat, and is basically solid stated in operation, meaning there are no parts to simply burn up or wear out in a short period of time. At the most basic level, an LED is a diode, just like you'd find in a radio or your computer. They're efficient, compact, and powerful light sources that can operate for several years without fail.
